When inaugurated in 1996, Ocean Dunes Golf Club immediately set the standard in SE Asia for links golf. Laid out by Masters and British Open champion Nick Faldo, this Scottish style links in the tropics takes full advantage of its seaside location amidst a windswept natural landscape. The fairways are generous, as befits a resort course, but the dunes, bunkering and vegetation, buffeted by the coastal breeze, bring strategy to every hole.
“Ocean Dunes Golf Club is an outstanding natural site with the sand dunes, sea breezes, beach vegetation and sea-views. We have let the dunes determine the routing arid the look of the golf course. It should have the feel and the playability of the early seaside courses, but with a tropical climate” says Faldo.
